About the PwnCast

The PwnCast of Wrock is a podcast dedicated to the awesomeness that is Wizard Rock. The hosts, Dan and Julia, met through PotterFicWeekly, a podcast which breaks down and analyzes fanfiction. The idea for PwnCast came about as a result of setting up an online Wrock radio station for the PotterFicWeekly Halloween Ball. The ball was a smashing success, thanks in large part to the Wizard Rock. Dan and Julia couldn’t fail to notice this, and thought it would be fun to produce a podcast discussing Wizard Rock. They love to talk about Wrock, and think it’s extremely important for you to know exactly how they feel about it.

The podcast itself has a fairly regular format. The first series will be split be discussing characters in the Harry Potter universe, and songs written about them. We’ll analyze the characters (and hopefully not sound like idiots while doing so) and play your favorite songs. We also feature interviews from Wrockers who’ve written songs about these characters or play them in Wizard Rock bands. Each episode will also feature two additional segments. The first of these segments is “Story and a Song” in which we read a short fan fiction and play a Wrock song which relates to the story. The second segment is “A Muggle’s Alternative to Wizard Rock” in which Dan discusses Muggle music’s influence on some of our favorite Wizard Rock songs.
